Gustavienne is a timeless collection of children’s furniture that will be passed down from generation to generation.

Each piece of furniture has been designed with harmony of proportions in mind, featuring subtle and elegant carpentry details inspired by the Swedish Gustavian style – but in a more simplified and pure form to fit contemporary interiors. The furniture is also more functional than antique Gustavian furniture, complying to safety standards and manufactured to the highest quality.

This project is the result of a close collaboration between Nathalie Partouche and Bo Ekström.

Nathalie, inspired by her childhood in Sweden, wished to update Swedish tradition with this exclusive collection that is now sold to beautiful nursery and kids’ rooms all over the world.

Bo, a Swedish designer from a family of four generations of furniture designers, has always been passionate about creating lines, shapes and sensations. His engineering degree completed his heritage, allowing him to determine the strengths and solidity of beautiful products that will stand the test of time. He loves the forest that is so present in his native region of Smaland and says “we don’t need to invent what is naturally within our reach!”

The rules of the golden ratio were applied to design this collection, contributing to its harmonious proportions. The perfectly chosen details are the subject of skilled craftsmen with the carved beads which outline the contours of each piece of furniture symbolizing refinement and softness. The legs are made of turned wood topped with a wild rose in the corners.

The Gustavienne collection is made of premium solid wood from eco-managed forests in Northern Europe and varnishes are water-based, free of solvents and volatile particles.
Linseed oil is used for the natural finish. All furniture complies with the current safety standards.

Emphasis was put on creating harmonious lines in continuity, making sure to remove unnecessary elements that aren’t pleasant for the eye, such as visible screws or too many details.
